Bentley has been publishing erotica for close to a decade, initially via internet sites such as Ruthies Club and eroticstories.com. …actually, writing is relaxing, so that’s what I do.

All my stories are first person and at least partially autobiographical, so I’d have to say – me

* If you could make a movie of any one of your books which one would you choose and who would you cast at the h/h?

Miss America, which draws on some of my nastiest fantasies and features some of the most repulsive characters I’ve ever created.  Anne Hathaway would play me; Kyra Knightley has a role… and so do Johnny Depp, David Tennant and, oddly, Mel Gibson.  His character is nicknamed Pencil Dick.

* Who is your favorite author?

Historically, Charles Dickens and Christopher Isherwood.  Currently, Connie Willis and Jacqueline Carey.

* What is the weirdest thing a reviewer has ever said about one of your books?

Not sure it’s weird, but one review obviously mixed up the characters in my book with those from another, and more or less created a whole new story…

* What is the nicest thing a reviewer has ever said about one of your books?

I was once called the Oracle of Oral Sex… and the Bard of the Blowjob.  I was very happy with those!

* Do you have a bucket list? If so, what are 2 things on it?  Kittens and vintage erotica

* What is your favorite color besides YELLOW? I know everyone love yellow.

Red.  And black.

* Boxers or briefs?  Briefs.

* Red Pill or Blue Pill?  Oh, always the blue one.

My own favorite stories in the collection sum up the book’s range and variety.  Giselle Renard’s “Rainbow Night” adds some vivid color to one of the modern world’s most exotic urban sex legends.  Velvet Moore‘s “Picture Me Naked” is sheer exhibitionism run riot.  Kirsty Logan’s “Sealskin” oozed mist and mystery.  Both Louisa Harte and Janine Ashbless made me crave ice cream like you wouldn’t believe.  And Alison Tyler’s “Want” is simply breathtaking, a long tease that sent me scurrying back to Amazon to pick up as many of her other writings as my beleagured holiday season credit card could withstand.  Which… thanks to the Amazon Sellers used books program… was a lot more than I expected.

The subject, of course, is the newly published The Bad Girl’s Sweet Kiss, but we wander onto other topics too and, when you’re done reading that, the rest of the site has some amazing moments too.

Hello Chrissie – thanks for taking the time to answer our questions.

1. What do you think makes a GREAT erotic story?

It must be believable, it must be detailed, but most of all, it must be written in such a way that you could see it happening to you – regardless of the story’s setting, historical or geographical.

2. Tell us more about “The Bad Girl’s Sweet Kiss” and what inspired this anthology.

Some of my own favorite stories to write are “first time” oral sex – partly, as I say in the introduction, because I think it is just as important a cherry-popping as the more traditional one, but also because it’s fun.  I was just wondering one day whether other people felt the same way about it, so I put out the call and was delighted to discover that the answer was yes.”

3. Do you have a favourite story within the anthology?

That’s a tricky one – they’re all favorites in a way, otherwise I wouldn’t have included them.  But the ones I direct people to first are the poems; we have two poets included in the book, Jenny Swallows and BL Morticia, and they both have very different approaches to verse… in fact, if Jenny reads this, she’ll kill me for even calling her a poet.  But between them, they remind us of the sheer power of the simplest words and sentiments, and just how important they are in this field.

4. Who, in your mind, is begging to be written next? Tell us more about what we can expect to come from Chrissie Bentley?

I have a story appearing in the upcoming (2011) edition of Best Women’s Erotica, which I’m absolutely thrilled about.  I’m also putting the finishing touches to what could be called a semi-fictional biography of a woman who was working in the blue movies industry in London in the mid-late 1960s, which has been fascinating, both to write and to research.  The porn film industry as we know it was very much in its infancy at that time, but there is a beauty and dignity to those short little black-and-white movies that modern film simply cannot approach.

 5. Do you have a routine or ritual that you do to keep motivated to continue writing?

No, apart from not worrying about it if a few months pass between writing stories… I know there’ll be another one along sooner or later.

6. What is your favourite sexual position?

Tee-hee… guess!

First, can I just say that I am thrilled beyond words by the inclusion of my story “Pictures Of Lilly” in the newly published Women’s Best Erotica 2011, edited by Violet Blue and including the series’ usual round-up of the finest female erotica writers around…
